SIMs and Connectivity
Most hotels, hostels, and cafés across Thailand offer fast, free Wi-Fi. In cities and tourist areas, the connection is usually strong enough for video calls and uploads. However, for full flexibility and coverage on the go, we recommend getting mobile data as soon as you arrive.

We used an unlimited data eSIM through the Airalo app and found it incredibly convenient. There was no need to swap out plastic SIM cards, just download the app, install the eSIM, and you’re connected within minutes. For £30, we had 30 days of unlimited data with excellent coverage, even in more remote areas like Khao Sok and parts of Koh Samui. If your phone supports eSIMs, it’s a hassle-free and reliable choice.

Physical SIM cards are also widely available at international airports, convenience stores like 7-Eleven, and mobile kiosks. These can be slightly cheaper if you only need limited data for a short stay. Plans vary, but you'll typically pay less than £10 for a local SIM with a few gigabytes of data. Just make sure your phone is unlocked before you travel.
