What was meant to be a relaxing Highland escape quickly turned chaotic, with ignored trail diversions, unexpected tree-scaling, and a wild swim that nearly froze us solid. From seafood in Inveraray to chasing waterfalls near Lettermay Burn, this misadventure had it all, laughs, blisters, and a pint to recover.

After a challenging hike to the remote Peanmeanach Beach, we spent a night wild camping on one of Scotland’s most stunning coastal spots. Battling bogs, midges, and an atrial fibrillation episode, this unforgettable adventure tested us physically and mentally but the views, solitude, and sense of achievement made it all worthwhile.

A chilly autumn day led us to the historic village of New Lanark and the scenic Falls of Clyde. With quiet woodland paths, roaring (well, trickling) waterfalls, and a steep hill that nearly finished us off, it was a day full of nature, nostalgia, and cake.

A spontaneous detour turns into a perfect autumn adventure as we leave Tyndrum behind and head for Oban. Along the way, we explore the dramatic ruins of Kilchurn Castle, soak up the views from McCaig’s Tower, and share stories over burgers by the bay. With drone shots, unplanned stops, and some classic Scottish humour, this leg of the journey proves that the best travel moments are often the ones you don't plan.
